Paul Martin

CFO

Paul joined Blatchford in October 2021 as Chief Financial Officer (CFO), where he is responsible for all finance related aspects of the business. Paul is a qualified Chartered Accountant (ICAEW) with 20 years’ experience and a track record of generating shareholder value across a diverse range of businesses. 

Following a seven-year career in the accounting industry with Deloitte, Paul subsequently worked in several multinational business, both public and private equity backed, spanning a variety of industries. Over the last decade he has operated at CFO/COO level in several international organizations and has been based in the UK and Singapore.  

Paul most recently delivered a significant restructuring exercise as CFO/COO of IDS plc, an AIM listed in-vitro diagnostic (medical device) developer and manufacturer headquartered in Newcastle with an international footprint.  Upon completion of the restructuring, he led the sale of IDS to a trade buyer, generating a 9x increase in enterprise value over his tenure in the business.  Paul was responsible for all shareholder relations activities at IDS. 

Prior to this Paul was based in Singapore, where he was CFO of the Power Products division of Volex plc, an international manufacturer of cable assemblies and power cables.   He was instrumental in turning around the Power Products division, returning it to growth for the first time in many years, and for a period also headed up Volex’s Asian region.  

During his time at Acision which was a £500m turnover global technology business spun out from Logica plc, Paul was responsible for preparing the controls and systems of the business for IPO, and then leading all financial aspects of the group’s IPO process.
